Hello everyone! Today at Camisetas FĂștbol Sorpresa we want to share with you a very useful and quite common sewing trick for those who want to modify the size of their football shirts. If you have a shirt that you love but it is a little tight, this tutorial is perfect for you. We are going to show you how to add fabric to the sides of a shirt to make it bigger, a simple method that you can do at home.
Step 1: Measure the amount of fabric to add
The first thing you need to do is determine how much you want to make your shirt bigger. To do this, use another shirt that fits you well as a reference. Lay it flat and flat, and then place the shirt you want to fit on top of it, stretching both fabrics out so you can measure accurately. In our example, we found that we needed to add approximately 4 centimeters to each side of the shirt, which added together (including front and back) comes to a total of 8 centimeters per side.
Step 2: Prepare the fabric pieces
Once you've measured how much your shirt needs to expand, cut out the pieces of fabric you'll be adding. Remember to include seam allowances. In our case, we added an extra 2 centimeters per side for seam allowances, so each piece of fabric was 10 centimeters wide. The height of each piece will be taken directly from the shirt, making sure to also include the centimeters needed for the fold at the bottom and for the sleeves.
Step 3: Unstitch and prepare for sewing
Before you can add the new pieces of fabric, you'll need to unstitch the sides of the shirt a bit, including a small section at the armholes to make the sewing process easier. Make sure to do this carefully to avoid damaging the fabric.
Step 4: Add the new pieces
With the pieces cut out and the shirt ready, it's time to start sewing. Line up the fabric pieces with the sides of the shirt and the armholes, pinning them in place first. If you find that the sleeve is too wide, you can adjust it by reducing the width a little at the part that goes towards the arm.
Step 5: Sew and finish
Sew the fabric pieces to the shirt, making sure everything is aligned and even. Once the pieces are added, make any necessary folds and sew the edges for a clean, professional finish.
Bottom line
And that's it! You now have a football shirt tailored to your preferred size. This method is not only useful for adjusting the size, but also for customizing your shirts with fabrics of different colors or patterns, giving them a unique and personal touch.
We hope you found this tutorial useful and that it encourages you to experiment with your own t-shirts. Remember, if you like this type of content, don't hesitate to give it a thumbs up and subscribe for more tips and tricks at Camisetas FĂștbol Sorpresa . Until next time!
