In a historic match in the TaƧa de Portugal Feminina, Benfica beat Sporting de Portugal with a score of 0-5. However, what caught the attention of all spectators was the use of a new tool on the field of play: the white card. During the 44th minute of the first half, referee Catarina Campos showed for the first time this new card, which is used to reward fair play and good attitudes on the field.
In this case, the white card was given to the medical services of both teams, who quickly assisted a fan who felt ill in the stands. With this new card, the Portuguese Football Federation seeks to promote fair play and to acknowledge good actions on the field of play.

In an effort to promote fair play in football, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has introduced a new tool in matches: the white card . Approved in 2018, this card is awarded to players, coaches and fans who demonstrate good attitudes and fair play on the field.
The white card is a way of recognising and rewarding positive behaviour on the field of play , and is part of Portugal's National Plan for Ethics in Sport. This tool was already implemented in Spain in 1971. With the introduction of the white card , the FPF seeks to encourage fair play and a positive sporting environment for all those involved in the game.
