Chelsea have already signed seven new players in this winter transfer window, and remain interested in recent World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez . According to journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, the English club are willing to make a €120 million offer for the Benfica midfielder.
The Argentine is one of Chelsea's top targets as they look to add to Graham Potter's squad. The Stamford Bridge club remain interested in the Argentine despite having already signed 7 players in the last month. Benfica are holding firm.
Fernandez has a €120m buy-out clause and the Portuguese club's president Rui Costa has told the London club to pay the full clause if they want to sign the talented midfielder. To date, Benfica have shown no interest in selling the player they bought for €14m from River Plate last summer.

@Matt_Law_DT reports that Chelsea have informed Benfica that they are willing to pay the €120M release clause for Enzo Fernández.
Chelsea must negotiate a way to pay that amount in instalments. MDF✍️ pic.twitter.com/iLdhxvyG8V
If Chelsea do pay the €120m for the 22-year-old, it will be paid in several instalments. Cesar Luis Merlo reports that the Premier League club will meet Benfica's asking price, but without involving any players in the deal, so the full amount would be paid. The Blues don't have much time left in the January transfer window, but with seven new faces already at Stamford Bridge, Fernandez's signing would not be a major surprise.
What do you think of this signing? Would you like to see the Argentinean wear the Chelsea shirt?
